Through April and May I reported no less than eleven graffitied street telecoms cabinets across Gainsborough. Using my favourite website/app – fixmystreet – these dirty green boxes owned by Virgin Media were reported through to the cleansing team at Ipswich Borough Council for action.
The Council in turn forwarded the reports to Virgin Media, but it is disappointing to note that they have not responded yet. The Borough Council has enforcement powers over telecoms companies, and can require them to clean up their street furniture. If necessary these powers will now be used to secure action.
I want Gainsborough to look its absolute best, so if you see a grot spot I’ve missed please let me know and we can tackle it together.
