Martin was first elected to the Borough Council in 1995 and has represented Gainsborough ward since 2008. Employed as a Senior Manager with Openreach, based at Adastral Park, Martin has lived in Ipswich all his working life.

Martin works alongside fellow Gainsborough Borough Councillor, Lynne Mortimer.
